This is a new page outlining my study of Matsubayashi Shorin-Ryu Karate Do at Academy Of Traditional Karate in Wilmington, Massachusetts. I really don't know what the future of this section of my web site will be, but as with all my other loves of writing and statistical analysis, I wanted to make a page outlining my studies and how my progress is going.

In my opinion, the 4 major stages at my dojo are when we receive our white belt (10), green belt (5), brown belt (3), and black belt (I). In terms of material required, these are the major steps throughout the process. The question one would probably be asked by an outsider would be "when are you going to get your black belt?" Keep in mind that black belts are not given, they are earned through a high level of training and dedication. But to answer this question, if I was to put out a best guess, at my current rate of training I would be looking to test for the rank of Shodan-Ho (probationary black belt) June 2008.
